Kentucy Wildcats: The Mardi Gras Miracle (Full Frame, Commemorative Edition) The Greatest Comeback in Kentucky Basketball. It was a tale of two halves. In the first half of its game against the LSU Tigers, Kentucky played about as poorly as it could play. Nothing went right for the Cats as their starters scored only 9 points in the first half. An the same time LSU looked unstoppable as they blocked shots and poured in 3-pointers from everywhere; lighting the Wildcats up with 68% shooting form the field and a 48-32 lead. LSU continued the deluge early in the second half going on an 18-0 run to build a 68-37 lead. Looking at a 31-point hole it would have been easy for Kentucky to pack it in, but instead they put together the greatest comeback in collegiate basketball history. Coach Rick Pitino looked to his bend for some fire and found it in Gimel Martinez, Jeff Brassow and Walter McCarty. Everything that had gone right for LSU early deserted the Tigers as Kentucky found it's range from 3-point land and outscored LSU 62-27 in the final 15:34 to win 99-95. Seabiscuit: America's Legendary Racehorse Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. The heroes of this true story entered the stage as minor players and left as champions..real life American legends. In 1936, an unlikely cast of characters came together: Seabiscuit: a burned-out, knobby-kneed racehorse; Red Pollard: a down and out, half blind jockey: George Woolf: the "Ice Man," a cool and cocky rider; Tom Smith: an aging western trainer bypassed by the big time; Charles S. Howard: Buick dealer and horse owner, a self made man. Seabiscuit's story played out against America's Great Depression, when one in four breadwinners was without work. Spectator sports, radio programming and movie theaters offered an escape and created instant celebrity...even for horses. When America needed him most, Seabiscuit became the working man's hero and the most remarkable thoroughbred race horse in history! He made us believe in ourselves, in courage, in perseverance, in America. No other racehorse has come close to Seabiscuit's fame or his hold over the nation's imagination. This program includes the complete archival Seabiscuit/War Admiral "Match Race," which is considered to be the greatest horse race in history. Riding Seabiscuit was George "Ice Man" Woolf, who has been called "the greatest jockey who ever lived." This documentary includes real footage of jockey Red Pollard's (Toby Maguire in the Universal film) thrilling victory at the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap. Includes an interview with Bob Baffert, trainer of Kentucky Derby Winner "Silver Charm" and "Real Quiet.
